Anselm Desilva

On Tuesday, January 19th, 2021, Anslem Nihal Desilva, beloved husband, father of four children, and grandfather went to be with our Eternal Father in Heaven at the age of 72 in Northridge, California.

Anslem was born on April 21st, 1948 in Colombo, Sri Lanka to late Harold & Ethel Desilva (Rathnapura). He was the third of four children; Hilary, Sharma who preceded him in death and has one remaining sister Nirmala (Bert).

Anslem was an honest, fun-loving, vibrant person with warm, beautiful smile with willingness to help those who were in need. He was loved and inspired by many who knew him dearly because of his cheerful, positive outlook in life despite health challenges he had encountered. He enjoyed drama (Sri Lankan), music, movies and had a quest for knowledge, new skills, & technology. He was an accountant by profession and helped many with his vast, extensive knowledge and experience in tax, immigration & etc.

Anslem, is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, Vineetha (née Perera) and his four children, Niroshan, Melanie, Nilan & Sriyan (Roy), and grandchildren; Rosy, Tejan, Nathan, Amari & Isaac. The beautiful, endless memories of him will be cherished forever and he will permanently be locked in our hearts & minds for the rest of our lives.

Two visitations have been scheduled at Angeleno Mortuary, Van Nuys, CA; Monday, March 01st 2021 at 2:PM-6PM and Tuesday, March 02nd 2021 at 10AM - 1PM. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 02nd 2021 at 1PM- 2:30PM at Angeleno Mortuary and graveside service & interment to be followed at Forest Lawn Cemetery at 4:PM.
