Bernabe Ortega Nunez

Bernabé Ortega a la edad de 60 años el 6 de septiembre, fue llamado a unirse a sus padres y hermana. Pasó por su casa en Sylmar rodeado de su familia. Sus tres hijos adultos; Angélica, Bernie, Stephanie, sus hermanos; Mario y Juan, y muchas de sus sobrinas y sobrinos estaban con él en el momento de su fallecimiento.
Bernabé nació el 12 de junio de 1961, sus padres María Núñez y José Ortega Murillo tuvieron cinco hijos y Bernabé fue el cuarto hijo con un hermano menor Juan y dos hermanos mayores José y Mario y una hermana mayor Antonia. La vida para Bernabé fue disfrutar del campo cosechando con sus hermanos y su padre. Bernabé decidió irse de casa a los 19 años con la bendición de sus padres y se instaló en la ciudad de San Fernando, donde crió a sus hijos. Estuvo casado dos veces pero prefirió la vida de soltero. Trabajó para una compañía discográfica mundial durante más de 15 años. Formó parte de la tripulación que logró el récord mundial Guinness por el árbol más grande que se trasplantó, llamado "Old Glory", un roble (Quercus lobata) que medía 17.67 m (58 pies) de altura y pesaba aproximadamente 415.5 toneladas ( 916.000 lb) y se trasladó 0,4 km (0.25 millas) el 20 de enero de 2004. Disfrutaba de la carpintería, los viajes y el béisbol. Su amor por el béisbol comenzó a una edad muy temprana, jugó en una liga de viajes de fin de semana hasta bien entrados los 50 años. El último juego de los Dodgers de Los Ángeles al que asistió fue una serie en la autopista entre el equipo favorito de su hijo, los Ángeles de Los Ángeles, el 7 de agosto de 2021 y sí, su equipo ganó y pudo presumir en el viaje a casa de la victoria. Bernabé tenía un corazón cálido, proporcionó un hogar amoroso para un perro que había sido abusado anteriormente. Le encantaba bailar, pero sobre todo amaba a sus hijos. Disfrutaba llevándolos a la escuela, preparándose la cena y llevándolos de viaje.

Bernabé fue un gran padre, un gran hijo, un gran hermano, un gran tío y un gran amigo. Era un hombre con un gran sentido del humor y tenía la capacidad de hacer reír a los demás incluso cuando no se sentía bien. Sus citas más famosas fueron "Mija Tranquila No Te Me Aceleres" y "A Esa Chiquitas Aquí La Traigo".

His three adult children; Angelica, Bernie, Stephanie, his brothers; Mario and Juan, and many of his nieces, and nephews were with him at the time of his passing.
Bernabe was born June 12th 1961, his parents Maria Nunez and Jose Ortega Murillo had five children and Bernabe was the 4th child with one younger brother Juan and two older brothers Jose and Mario and an older sister Antonia. Life for Bernabe was enjoying the countryside and harvesting with his brothers and father. Bernabe decided to leave home at the age of 19 with the blessing of his parents and settled in the city of San Fernando, where he raised his children. He was married twice but preferred the single life. He worked for a World Record Company for over 15 years. He was a part of the crew that made it to the Guinness World Record for the largest tree to be transplanted, named "Old Glory" an oak tree (Quercus lobata) which measured 17.67 m (58 ft) tall, weighted approximately 415.5 tonnes (916,000 lb) and was moved 0.4 km (0.25 miles) on 20 January 2004. He enjoyed carpentry, traveling, and baseball. His love for baseball started at a very young age, he played in a weekend travel league well into his 50’s. The last LA Dodger game he attended was a freeway series between his son's favorite team the LA Angels on August 7, 2021 and yes, his team won and he was able to brag on the ride home of the victory. Bernabe had a warm heart, he provided a loving home for a dog that had previously been abused. He loved to dance, but most of all he loved his children. He enjoyed taking them to school, preparing dinner for them and taking them on trips.

Bernabe was a Great Father, a Great Son, a Great Brother, a Great Tio, and a Great Friend. He was a man with a great sense of humor and had the ability to make others laugh even when he was not feeling well.
