CHRISTOPHER RAQUIB EATON, 64, the son of the late James A. Eaton and Burnice A. Williams was born in Boston Massachusetts. After attending local schools in Pomona California, he returned to Boston graduating from Wellesley High School. He attended the MIT Urban Studies Program and Boston University where he began a career in broadcasting as a radio DJ reporter at WBUR’s “The Drum”. While there he shared a prestigious Peabody Journalism award for documenting the background, rise and controversy of The Black Panther Party. He moved on to work as a broadcast producer and engineer, TV host, record company executive, publicist, program director and actor in Boston, New York, Atlanta and Hollywood. He is also a published anthologized poet. “CRE”, as he is nicknamed, is the co-author/producer of the Armstrong award-winning play, “The Loneliest Monk”, a WGBH Boston radio bio-drama based on the life of Jazz pianist/composer Thelonious Monk. He is survived by his son Tauraq R. Eaton, his mother Burnice, sisters Michelle Raiford and Meredith Patterson, and brother Albert. His remains will be scattered off the coast of California in the Pacific Ocean.
