Donald Garry Galloway, 66, of Sherman Oaks, California, passed away peacefully at his home October 20, 2019. Garry was born April 23, 1953 in Dearborn, Michigan. He was the second of three children of the late Donald J. Galloway and the late Margaret Galloway. He is survived by his brother James (Sandra) Galloway and his sister Janice (Fred) Woodward. Proud uncle to Sean, Stacey, Kimberly, Henry and Olivia, and great uncle to 5. Loving godfather to Sean Kuha. Garry moved to Southern California in the early 1980’s to pursue his musical career as a pianist and composer and was a member of the band Art in America. He was an Administrative Assistant at CBS, Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA), and HealthNet. Garry retired in 2017 and enjoyed composing and performing music, walking, and his yearly trip to Las Vegas to the NAMM show. His favorite trip was to Scotland to explore his ancestral homeland. A funny, kind, and gentle soul, always ready with a good pun, always ready with the perfect chord, Garry will be greatly missed by his family and friends. A Celebration of Life gathering will be announced in the near future. His memory will live on in his music; in lieu of flowers you may use the link below to make a donation to the John Lennon Educational Bus Tour in Garry’s name so future generations of musicians can carry his light forward.
