Douglas Milo Anderson was born on July 19, 1955 at L.A. County General Hospital. He was lovingly raised by his parents, Milo Keith and Dorothy Scott Anderson, here in Los Angeles and also lived with his parents for 3 years in Sacramento, CA. Douglas resided for a brief period of his young adult years in San Francisco and Lake Tahoe before returning to Los Angeles, where he has resided his entire adult life, predominantly in the western San Fernando Valley within Woodland Hills and Canoga Park.
Doug married Robin Lynne Anderson on May 7, 1983 and together they had 2 sons, Milo Harold Anderson born in 1984 and Noah Joseph Anderson born in 1985. In 1990, Doug entered a loving relationship with Mr. Nicholas Rocca, who has been his life partner for more than 30 years. Nick Rocca has been a devoted and respectful second father to Doug and Robin’s 2 sons, Milo and Noah, along with their 3 grandchildren, 7-year-old Andre Anderson, 5-year-old Alma Anderson and 8-month-old Nova Lee Anderson. Douglas has created a legacy of heath, wealth, love and harmony, which includes close and loving relationships with his 2 daughters, Mabel Sierra Anderson and Angela Holmstrom.
Doug preached “Unconditional Love” as his basic tenet throughout his life. He inspired his family, friends, colleagues and acquaintances through his actions and leadership along with his loyalty and compassion. Doug was a loving man who devoted his life to his family, his life partner and to everyone he met. He was a wise man who enjoyed teaching others about his life experiences and also appreciated learning from others. He was filled with an abundance of enthusiasm, positivity and genuineness, which everyone experienced through his deep, profound and meaningful conversations.
Doug demonstrated an intensity, tenacity, boldness, strength and curiosity in all areas of his life. He was continuously motivated to learn and to master a depth of knowledge about his subjects of interest, including comparative religious studies, metaphysics, philosophy, spirituality, science, technology, artificial intelligence, medicine and health care advances. Douglas was a 20-year survivor of lung cancer and also survived several other health challenges, including heart disease, surgeries and circulatory problems through accessing cutting-edge medical interventions.
Doug was perpetually an optimist who always utilized determination and modern scientific advances to extend his quality and quantity of life. He had a profoundly deep relationship with and understanding of God in his personal life. Indeed, he shared with theologians as well as family and friends his belief in God’s divinity throughout all of creation. This inspired Doug to be a continuous visionary who demonstrated creativity and cleverness along with Total Benevolence toward all people.
Douglas was an exceedingly generous, caring, kind-hearted, dedicated, punctual, reliable, ambitious, determined, motivated, intelligent man with a robust brilliant smile, a powerfully spontaneous contagious laugh and an intense love of life. His presence would light up any room with brilliance and intensity. He was a natural leader, mentor, teacher, trainer and logistics individual.
Doug was detail oriented in all of his life roles including being a father, grandfather, son, nephew, cousin, uncle, husband, best friend and life partner. This was evident in his joy of celebrating holidays, birthdays, special events and hosting many dinners, parties and outings, which included his love of the beach, waterfalls, nature, the universe, camping, hiking, traveling, bicycling, exercising, riding motorcycles and attending parties, festivities and events at the Hollywood Bowl, Disney Music Hall, Ahmanson Theater, Warner Center Park and Disneyland. He also enjoyed travels to Hawaii with a special fondness for Maui, Hana, Lahaina and Kihei, as well as New York, Chicago, St. Louis, San Francisco, Seattle, Vancouver, London, Paris, San Diego, Sacramento, Phoenix, Pennsylvania and the Jersey shore. He had an itinerary to travel throughout Italy and plans to visit friends and family in South and North Carolina in 2020. He truly felt at home in our National Parks and enjoyed repeated visits to Yosemite, Sequoia and the Redwoods.
Born, raised and a life-long California native, Douglas Milo Anderson embraced his Eternal Life on Saturday September 5, 2020. He is now one with the Universe and at peace with God his Father, his Savior Jesus Christ and the powerful Holy Spirit along with all the heavenly beings and ancestors who preceded him.
He will be forever remembered in the hearts and souls of all his family, friends and those who shared his lifetime, including his one biological brother, Don Smith, and his four biological sisters, including Barbara and Pam, as well as his lifelong adopted sisters, Linda, Karen and Susie. With all of these people, Douglas would often say, “We are already experiencing a part of HEAVEN here on Earth every day.”
May we forever hold an Appreciation and Love for this incredible and amazing man, who is now a Heavenly Angel shining Brightly and Brilliantly across the Universe.
