Eric Alford Jr.

Eric Joseph Alford, Jr. was born in Los Angeles, California, on November 06, 1976, to
Eric Joseph Alford, Sr. and Mildred Adelaide Burgess who both preceded him in death.
Throughout his life, Eric maintained a kind, loving demeanor that won the hearts of
those who knew him. His signature gift of joy shown through his ready smiles, his
laughter and being funny will always be remembered. Eric departed this life
unexpectedly on April 19, 2023.
Eric attended school in Los Angeles Laura Miller Elementary, Foshay Middle School,
and Taft High School. As a youth Eric attended church with his family regularly, at New
Testament Church where he was baptized as a boy. He was known for his love to cook
and serve up a tasty meal…and yes, he was indeed a good chef. Eric was a big man and
loved his food. He was soft-spoken with a quick smile followed by a brief laugh. He
was a gentle and kindhearted giant… loving, respectful and humble with a willing
spirit, always ready to volunteer his help.
Eric’s short life encountered much adversities living in the streets of Los Angeles. Eric
got caught in the snares and was incarcerated for nine years plus years, over which
duration he spent much of his time learning, remembering, and growing closer to
God. Eric served as Peer Counselor and other volunteer services during this time, and
planned to continue working with youths once he was rehabilitated to rejoin
society. He was radiant with expectations. Eric Joseph Alford, Jr. unexpectedly
departed this life on April 19, 2023. He will be sorely missed.
Eric is survived by one son Eric two daughters: Brianna and Diovian ; two brothers:
Ean Sr. and Kevin; three grandchildren: A’Donis, Nyx, and Ava . He is also survived by
four nephews: Brandon , Eric , Khalil, and Ean Jr; six nieces: Nicole , Porsha , Mercedes ,
Noell, Mary and Amy; six aunts, 2 uncles, and a host of cousins, extended family and
friends.
