Erlinda Villanueva, age 69, passed away last January 14, 2021 in Los Angeles, CA. Linda, as her family and everyone close call her, was born on January 22, 1951 in the Philippines. She had spoken about her life as being poor and having to pay for her college by working and selling goods to her classmates. Linda had always been a hard worker, strived hard for her family. Back home, she lived her career life as a policewoman and retired from the force in 2000 as a senior police inspector. While she succeeded with her profession, she also juggled to keep a small business all to rear her children and extended family as she supported everyone in their education.
In 2000, Linda began her American quest as she migrated to the US. She had stayed in Chicago, but mostly lived in Los Angeles, CA. Her journey was not an easy one as she navigated the work and life here in America. She knew it was difficult being an immigrant that is why she helped any fellow Filipino who just moved to the US, in any way that she can.
As a mother, she always wanted the best for her children. She was nurturing, loving, and very generous. She gave heartily because she didn’t want to deprive her family of things she could not get or afford for herself when she was younger. She had this sweet smile, so precious you want to see it every day. To her friends, she was always there to help and listen. As a grandmother, she showered her grandchildren much even more than her own.
Linda is survived by her loving husband, Bert, and her children Arcelyn, Narciso Jr, Earlbert, Melvin, and Ryndon. She will also be missed by her extended family, sister Luzviminda, nieces Glady, Joey, Luziel, Narejohn, and Charmae and her grandchildren.
Viewing service will be on February 1 & 2, 2021 from 1:00pm-5:00 pm. Linda’s remains will be cremated on a later date.
