Floro Padios Perlas, 77, resident of California, entered into eternal peace on April 25, 2016 in a Los Angeles hospital, with his family by his side. Floro was born on July 29, 1938, in Bataan, Aklan, Philippines, to Felipe and Flora Perlas. He was the youngest of seven children. He was married to Eva Limbo of Quezon Province,Philippines, on December 20, 1964. After graduating high school, he attended a seminary in Iloilo City for one year and later graduated from Far Eastern University of Manila with a degree in Business Administration, major in Accounting. He worked at National Power Corporation in Manila for many years, where he met his future wife, Eva Limbo. After moving to the United States, he worked at Lomas & Nettleton, Los Angeles City College, and finally as a supervising accountant for the L.A. Unified School District County Superintendent of Schools, where he retired in 1997. Floro's hobbies included watching all types of sports, Wicked Tuna, and National Geographic history. Above all, he enjoyed going to church and praying the rosary everyday, sometimes more than once a day. In his youth, he was an altar server and continued to practice his Catholic faith into adulthood as a Sacristan, Eucharist minister, member of the Cursillo and an active parishioner at St. Bernard's Catholic Church. Floro was known for his sense of humor and for having a nickname for everyone. He made jokes but people could never tell that he was actually joking. As the patriarch of the family, his favorite saying was "I am the King!".
Floro is survived by his wife of 51 years, Eva; 2 sisters Paula Relis and Liday Flores; 4 daughters and their spouses, Isabel Buckton, Gina Perlas, Rica and Matt Lilly, Liza and Al Flowers; 7 grandchildren and their spouses, Jillienne and Kishin Kuba, Daniel Caballero III, Taylor Mactal, Cody Richardson, Kendell Flowers, Luke Richardson, Ayden Flowers; and 2 great-grandchildren, Jaxton Kian Kuba and Kieran Floro Kuba, and his loving nieces, nephews, and numerous other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Felipe and Flora Perlas; brothers Miguel and Tony Perlas; sisters Agapita Acido and Sally Unajan; and his son-in-law Mark Buckton.
