Marisol Reina (Cruz Paton) Hansen, 55, who resided in Granada Hills, California, passed away
surrounded by her loved ones on July 15, 2021, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Marisol was born in La Paz, Bolivia to Concepcion Paton Loza and Armando Cruz and was the oldest of 5
children. At the age of eight, she was sent to Argentina where she was raised by her aunt, Cecilia, who
she considered her second mother. After Marisol graduated from the Institute Jose Maria Pizarro y
Monje, she attended Medical School for a couple of years before she moved to the United States.
Before moving to California, Marisol worked at the Municipalidad de Buenos Aires where she formed
lifelong friendships. Once in California, she worked at a couple of community organizations, but,
without hesitation, her favorite job was being a full-time mother and grandmother.
Marisol was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, where she served faithfully in
many different assignments. In 1991, she met Eric Hansen while serving her mission and they were
married for life and eternity in 1993. Together, they had 4 children: C.J., Dakota, Shania, and Jared.
In her free time, Marisol enjoyed fishing, hiking, sewing, and gardening. She will be remembered for
her ability to always keep her head up through the various trials life presented, as well as her resilience,
her service, her hard-working attitude, her contagious laugh, and the love she had for the people around
her.
Marisol is predeceased by her father, Armando Cruz, and her second mother, Cecilia Paton Loza.
Marisol’s beautiful life will forever be cherished by her family. She is survived by her husband, Eric
Hansen; her children, C.J. Christen (Jay), Dakota Hansen, Shania Hansen, Jared Hansen; grandchildren,
Bodie Christen, and a second granddaughter that is due July 25th; her siblings, Beatriz Cruz Paton, Abel
Cruz Paton, David Cruz Paton, Richard Cruz Paton, and Elisa Gott (Chris); nieces and nephews, aunts, and
