Raquel Santin

Raquel Maria de la Cruz Aizpurua Santin, 89, of Tarzana, CA, passed away at home at 12:04 am, Friday June 29, 2018. She was born on September 14, 1928, in Havana, Cuba, to Adolfo Aizpurua and Maria Florencia Gutierrez. She was married Dr. José Manuel Santin, who preceded her in passing.

She is survived by her daughter Rachel Olsen, and sons Gustavo Santin and Joseph Santin, her grandchildren Patrick Hausefeld, Jackie Talavera, Daniel Joseph Hausefeld, and Erik Olsen, her niece Sylvia Bradley and family, and her brother-in-law, Rene Fernandez. . She was preceded in passing by her loving daughter Lupe Hausefeld.

She was a long time resident of Tarzana, CA, and had previously resided in Burbank, California, New York, Madrid, Spain, and Havana, Cuba.

She was a graduate of the University of Havana in Sociology, and had also undergone studies in International Law. She was also a trained classical pianist.

She had been employed at Saint Joseph Medical Center in Burbank, and at North Hollywood High School for many years.

She enjoyed movies, listening to classical music, as well as cooking, and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Visitation will be at Angeleno Mortuary in Van Nuys, CA, from 10 am to 2:30 pm. Rosary will be at 11:00 am, with mass at 1:30 pm, and interment to follow at 3:30 pm, at Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills.
