Raymond Edwin Davis
January 15 1945 - May 28 2018
Raymond Edwin Davis passed away at his home on May 28th 2018.
His soul is now with our lord Jesus Christ, with whom Raymond felt he had a very special relationship for many years. In his later years Raymond professed his love of Our Lord at every opportunity.
Raymond was born in La Crescenta, California on January 15th 1945 to his mother Della Etha Davis and father William Thomas Davis and was raised in Burbank California. He spent most of his life in the San Fernando valley, except when he did his tour of duty in Vietnam while in the U.S. Army and was given an honorable discharge.
Raymond worked at the GM assembly plant in Van Nuys at an early age and retired after 30 years.
He had a good work ethic and enjoyed the camaraderie of his fellow employees.
Raymond was married at a very young age and had 2 children during that one and only marriage. He is survived be his two children, Tamara and Todd, and his grandchildren David, Todd, Zachary and Alyssa and his great grandchildren Daisy, Ivy and Ash. he is also survived by his sister Martha and brothers Gene, Marion, Frank and Stephan. He is predeceased by his mother Della, Father William and sisters Betty and Eloise.
Raymond had a wide variety of interests, His favorite was radio control model airplanes. He built and flew them, and received the greatest satisfaction from helping others in the sport, especially loved helping children and young newcomers to the sport. He also loved to fish, hunt, snow ski and target shoot in the Old West style, even reloading his own ammunition.
Raymond was a very giving and loving man. He thoroughly enjoyed sharing his knowledge with others, especially children.
One of the favorite parts of his life was being Santas helper and giving gifts to children. He will be remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing him and his gracious and pleasant nature. Our family remembers him as a loving and giving father , brother grandfather and friend. We all have been truly blessed to have him in our lives. May God bless your soul Raymond , may your soul rest in peace, for you now reside with God.
Raymond's interment service will be held at the National Veteran cemetery in Riverside California on July 16th 2018 at 1pm.
