Umesh Rajamani, beloved husband, brother, son, teacher, mentor and friend to many, passed away in Burbank, CA on April 1, 2019. He was 59. While we are saddened by his departure from the planet, we are grateful and full of love for being associated with an extraordinary person – kind, gentle, intelligent, humorous, multi-talented, and above all peaceful and contented. He was a deeply spiritual person from a very young age, an ardent devotee of Sri Sathya Sai Baba, and in the latter years of his life, using the pen name Om Raja Mani, authored 3 spiritual books (with a 4th completed manuscript) on great Spiritual Masters who raised people to higher levels of consciousness.
In addition to being spiritual, he was well read on various subjects, enjoyed fine food and sports, was a student and practitioner of naturopathy, and was an unusually gifted and talented musician. He played many different instruments – acoustic and electric guitar, keyboard, harmonium, flute, sitar, santoor, sarod, harmonica and the rudra veena – all self-taught. In his professional career he was a math and physics teacher, management professor at IIM Bangalore, and a sales and marketing professional. He has a couple of Engineering as well as a couple of Management degrees, 2 from India and 2 from the US. Umesh is survived by his dear wife Bharti, who was his constant companion, fellow spiritualist and friend during their 19 year marriage. Umesh is also survived by his 2 brothers Vijay and Ranjit, 2 brothers-in-law Ramesh and Satish, his parents-in-law, many cousins, and a host of other family and friends from his student and professional days.
